Breakfast is its own restaurant category in the United States. Diners serve eggs, pancakes, hash browns and bottomless coffee from early morning, sometimes around the clock; breakfast and brunch restaurants open around 7 and close in the early afternoon; delis and sandwich shops sell egg sandwiches and bagels to go and switch to lunch by 11. Weekend brunch, roughly 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., is the busiest shift of the week, and well-known spots run waits of 30 to 60 minutes; many now take reservations or a waitlist through an app. Expect large portions, free refills on drip coffee and a tip of 15 to 20 percent for table service. Creperies, waffle houses and bistros round out the group with sweeter or European-style menus.

Athens is in Georgia, in the Southeast, where summers are long, hot and humid, winters are mild, and afternoon thunderstorms and the hurricane season from June to November can change plans at short notice. US addresses list the street number and name, then the city, state abbreviation and ZIP code, and Athens follows the same pattern; a suite or apartment number such as Ste 200 refers to a unit inside the building. The map link on this page shows the exact spot.

Awesome experience. This is the pace for brunch. Food and service were spectacular. They can work with dietary restrictions. Definitely going back. The dreamy creamy grits were the bomb!

Beautiful decor- cherry table cloths pop, Georgia Bulldogs mural is outstanding. The flying biscuits and sunflowers wall is so beautiful. Our host was super nice and picked a great seat near the window where we could talk and hear one another. Our wait staff was friendly, kind, and attentive without being bothersome. She helped us narrow down our dish based on being pescatarians. The nectar drink was refreshing and something my kids hadn't had before. My only complaint is that I couldn't get a Mimosa at 11am, as a 50 year old adult on vacation. I love how buttery their biscuits are on top. Other restaurants in the chain don't butter the tops, so I appreciate that detail. I also love that they don't dilute their avocado mash with a bunch of lemon juice and other fillers. My daughter thought the grits were even better than my, that's very high praise because my organic stone ground yellow grits cooked with bullion cubes has been called "the best" by many friends and family members - great job! I hope we get the opportunity to return next summer!

The food was great, service was excellent! I got the biscuits and gravy with eggs and grits, wife got stuffed French toast with sausage and grits. The French toast was room temp, so they remade it for us and it was incredible!

So the server Kaitlyn was wonderful nothing was wrong with that part of this place. However the food took too long to come out and you can tell just by the state of the bacon and eggs. However, the manager offered us a refund without us, even asking. Then the manager Arjun ran out after us to apologize. So for this, Iβll give them four stars just a busy Friday. Would definitely come back and give it another try on or not so busy chaotic day.

Such a local favorite! I loved my lunch at Martiβs at Midday β the sandwiches, fresh salads, and houseβmade scoops are full of flavor and made with care. The cozy cafΓ© in a historic Normaltown cottage with its sunny patio is the perfect spot for a relaxed midday meal with friends or a quick solo bite. Friendly service and delicious, quality food make this one of the best lunch spots in Athens!
